Earthbound spirits are ghosts of deceased beings who have left unfinished business behind in their lives. This business often consists merely of a message that needs to be passed to a loved one, or a mystery that needs to be solved concerning their deaths. Because of this, earthbound spirits are largely harmless, though they can be frightening. As such, earthbound spirits are the ghosts most frequently helped by mediums.
Unlike many forms of ghosts, earthbound spirits are mostly unable to appear to anyone except those gifted with the ability to see ghosts -- such as mediums and sometimes other forms of supernatural perception. Even when they do appear, they may initally appear in grotesque and frightening forms if they are confused about their location or current states of being. Earthbound spirits may not appear seeking help immediately after their death, but may instead be disturbed by events occurring to the people or places that they loved in life.
Earthbound spirits are powered by the emotional energy of living beings, and as such they are most frequently attached to people -- rather than places or objects.

- Possession - earthbound spirits are able to take control of a person's body, and can even possess a corpse.
- Electromagnetic Interference - earthbound spirits sometimes interfere with electronic devices, mainfesting EVP and, most frequently, disrupting electric lights.
- Telekinesis - powerful earthbound spirits display some telekinetic powers, notably the ability to shatter glass when angry.
- Invisibility - earthbound spirits are virtually undetectable to those who do not have supernatural perception.
- Materialization - earthbound spirits can create objects, called apports, in order to interact with the physical world.
- Memory Manipulation - earthbound spirits can cause other people to experience their own memories.
- Dream Manipulation - earthbound spirits can influence the dreams of other people.
- Oppression - earthbound spirits can influence the behavior of living beings, exerting a certain level of control over others without possessing them.
- Spectral Displacement - earthbound spirits can, when possessing another being, push their soul out of their bodies. The displaced spirit will appear as a weak earthbound spirits while they are displaced.
